So, this was a very casual weekend trip to Paris in October. It wasn't my first time in the city of love, but we decided to go and run the WE RUN PARIS Nike 10km race that took place there that weekend.
We got very lucky with the weather because, even though it was early october, it was over 20 degrees and sunny! -Paris is magical rain on shine don't get me wrong, but the city has that special glow under the sun-
The first two days were all about exploring, playing tourist and seeing friends. We had some amazing food in so many different restaurants and cafés. Probably my favourite one was that little café on the corner called Le Babylone, where they serve the best croque monsieur in town (see picture below).
The race itself was awesome. It felt amazing running 10km around such a beautiful city and getting a medal afterwards!!
Then, we checked in at Pullman Hotel for the last night so we could be a bit closer to the centre of Paris. The hotel was very, very close to the Eiffel Tour and we were really lucky to get a room with a view of the amazing monument. Seeing the tower all lit up at night form our balcony was dreamy. After a quick nap, we were able to do our last bits of exploring and wandered around the Parisienne streets. A day of running and walking around the city meant that we had really built up an appetite - so……..we ate our weight in macaroons (mmm, macaroons!) - I've never had so many in a row before but they are just so delicious!
Merci for having us Paris! It won't be long before we come back!
